ABOUT US
Code Artists is an Auckland web studio that plans, designs and builds business websites with clear structure, sensible technology choices, and SEO considered from the start.
The goal is simple: a website that is easier to manage, costs less to run, and gives the business a stronger foundation for what comes next.
Code Artists was created to offer Auckland businesses a more considered way to deliver website projects.
Across different agency environments, one problem kept showing up. Early strategy could be sound. Design could look polished. But the later stages were often squeezed to protect budget or deadlines. Development got rushed. Copy had to fit layouts it was never written for. Decisions that should have been settled early were pushed downstream, where they became slower and more expensive to fix.
Code Artists was built to work differently: with clearer thinking earlier, stronger technical decisions through the build, and a process designed to protect quality from discovery through to launch.
Every project is shaped around the work it actually needs. That usually means strategy, design, copy, development and SEO working together through a structured process, with the right specialists involved at the right stages.
Instead of rushing from idea to build, Code Artists uses clear checkpoints to keep decisions aligned. Structure, page goals and direction are agreed early. Copy and design are developed against that structure. Development starts from approved inputs, not guesswork. QA is treated as a real delivery gate before anything goes in front of a client.
That approach helps reduce avoidable rework, protect the budget, and produce a website that feels joined up, supportable and ready for the work it needs to do.
Clients can expect clear scope, practical advice and fewer expensive surprises once the work is underway. The aim is to keep the project moving in the right direction without unnecessary complexity, late-stage confusion or avoidable rework.
That means being upfront about what is needed, what is optional, and where decisions need to be made before they start affecting budget or timelines. It also means recommending technology and workflows the business can realistically live with after launch, not just whatever sounds impressive in a proposal.
The end result should not be a website that creates extra admin, hides costs in the background, or leaves the business dependent on fragile fixes. It should be something the business can use with confidence, support properly, and keep building on over time.
Code Artists is a new studio, but it is built on more than 12 years of web development experience across New Zealand and international work. That background includes agency delivery, lead-level development responsibility, and projects for businesses that expect a high standard.
Not every project can be named publicly, especially where work has been delivered through agencies or under confidentiality. What does show up consistently is the feedback: clear communication, attention to detail, practical problem-solving, and dependable delivery. Many engagements have also led to repeat work and ongoing support, which says more than broad claims ever could.
We built our first website with Code Artists. Everything went smooth, so I want to say a special thanx to Sergei! His fantastic communication and problem-solving abilities helped a ton! Did not even know where to start before our first meeting. Thank you so much for everything you have done!

I cannot speak highly enough of Code Artists! Their attention to detail, while still being able to meet a tight deadline is something that was significant to me on this project. Communication was clear and consistent.

Working with Code Artists is always a great experience (this is our second project). I've used a lot of developers in the past and I'm so glad I've finally found them. We're moving to an ongoing retainer now so we always have their talents available.

Code Artists was founded by Serge after more than 12 years in web development across agency, client and project delivery environments in New Zealand and beyond. That background matters because the standard behind the studio did not come from theory. It came from years of seeing what helps website projects run smoothly, and what causes them to go off track.
The goal was not to start another agency built around noise or volume. It was to build a studio with a calmer, more considered way of working: clearer thinking early, stronger technical judgement through the build, and websites that still make sense to run and support after launch.
Code Artists is not built around chasing volume. Projects are assessed carefully before they begin, with a focus on whether the real problem is understood, whether the recommended approach is supportable, and whether the work can be delivered to the right standard.
Many of the businesses that come in are losing money one way or another. Their website may be creating extra admin, relying on manual work that should be handled properly online, or failing to turn interest into enough enquiries and sales. Sometimes the issue is obvious. Sometimes the business just knows the website feels expensive to run and underwhelming in return.
The focus is on identifying what is wasting time or money, what needs fixing first, and what kind of website is needed to solve that problem without creating new ones later.
If you are planning a new website, rebuilding an existing one, or trying to work out what needs fixing first, a discovery session is a practical place to start. It is a chance to get clearer on the problem, the priorities, and whether Code Artists is the right fit for the work.
