Services / Web Design
Knowing what a website costs should not require a sales call. Our prices are public, our quotes are fixed once scoped, and one senior technical lead carries your project from first conversation to launch.
We design and build websites for businesses in Auckland, and we publish our prices: $6,000 to $7,000 for a five-page Website Lite build, $10,000 to $12,000 for a ten-page Website Standard, and from $15,000 for an online store. The full breakdown lives on our pricing page, so you can rule us in or out before spending an hour on a call with us.
If you are looking for a website quote you can actually plan around, ours is fixed once the scope is agreed. Anything outside that scope is priced separately, in writing, before the work starts.
Website Lite, up to 5 pages
Website Standard, up to 10 pages
Ecommerce, online stores
Website design covers a wide span of jobs, from a five-page brochure site to a full online store. Most of our projects fall into one of three shapes, and we price each as a range you can hold us to. Hiring professional web designers in Auckland is not cheap, and the least we can do is make it predictable.
If your website needs something outside the three shapes here, discovery is where the real number gets set, and it stays fixed once you accept it.
At $6,000 to $7,000, Website Lite covers up to five pages: discovery, one design direction, a responsive build, contact forms with spam protection, and technical SEO basics with analytics set up at launch.
At $10,000 to $12,000, Website Standard adds stronger page structure and internal linking, more templates, deeper tracking and one straightforward integration across up to ten pages.
An online store starts at $15,000, with product structure, checkout flow and sales tracking included in the price.
FIXED MEANS FIXEDConsumer Protection NZ draws a clean line between a quote and an estimate: an accepted quote sets the price unless extra work or a change in scope is agreed. We work to the same rule for every client. Anything outside the agreed scope is described and priced in writing before the extra work begins.
A Lite build takes four to six weeks, a Standard one six to ten, and ecommerce runs ten to sixteen because product data, payments and shipping rules take real testing.
Professional website design runs in sequence: discovery, one approved design direction, development, then testing before anything goes live. Page count alone does not set the timeline. What stretches a schedule are integrations, the number of unique templates, and how much of the content still has to be written and uploaded.
We set the timeline at discovery and name what we need from you to hold it: content, feedback and access, with dates attached.
On our projects, missing content is the most common reason a build slips. Late changes to something already signed off can also move the date, since they reopen work that was already finished. That is why each stage ends with a signoff before the next one starts. Access to your domain registrar, hosting and analytics is worth sorting early rather than in launch week.
A free discovery session turns a one-paragraph idea into a written scope with a fixed quote attached.
Get a Fixed QuoteThe process runs in five stages, and the ones that matter most end with your signoff: the scope, the design, and the pre-launch build.
Business goals, priorities and constraints, turned into a written scope and a fixed quote. This is where we work out what will actually help your business now, and what can wait.
One design direction, built around your real content and user journey. If you already have brand or graphic design work, we design to it. You sign the design off before development starts.
The build, with performance, tracking, integrations and technical SEO considered from the start.
Mobile layouts, forms, tracking and browser consistency all tested before anything goes live. Launch is a checklist, and you see it.
Hosting, backups, updates and monitoring after launch, on the support plan you choose, so the site stays fast and stays up.
Every build should include four things, whichever web design company you hire: a responsive layout, SEO foundations, measured speed and working analytics. We treat them as the floor rather than as upgrades. Ask every studio on your shortlist how they handle each one.
Mobile devices account for roughly four in ten page views in NZ (StatCounter, July 2026), so responsive website design is part of every build rather than a paid upgrade. Layouts are built and tested on smaller screens, down to tap targets and form fields, so the site stays user-friendly on whatever screen it opens on.
Search engine optimisation at build time is the quieter part of the job. Our web developers set up clean markup, sensible URLs, headings and metadata, plus redirects for any pages that move, so a search engine can crawl and understand the site without guesswork. That is all being SEO friendly really means.
Fast is a number, not an opinion. Before launch, we optimise and test every template against Google’s Core Web Vitals guidance for loading, interaction and visual stability. Once the live site has enough traffic, we monitor real-world performance using field data from visitors.
Analytics goes in before the first visitor arrives, so you can see which pages contribute to enquiries and which quietly waste the visit. You cannot improve a user experience you have never measured.
We create websites you can own: most projects ship as custom WordPress builds, with a content management setup you can edit yourself. The platform charges no licence fee, and anything that does cost money over time, like hosting, care plans or paid plugins, is priced separately and in the open. Where the job is deeper platform work, our WordPress development Auckland service covers it properly.
E-commerce runs on WooCommerce or Shopify, structured to drive sales with tracking wired into the checkout, and larger stores sit under ecommerce web development. Design and development run as one project under the senior technical lead who scoped it, never handed between a design team and a web development team in different rooms.
Who do we design websites for? Mostly business owners whose website has a job to do: a new business getting its first serious quote, a local business that has outgrown a DIY builder, or an established Auckland company selling throughout New Zealand. The best website for most small businesses is five tight pages that answer real questions and route enquiries properly, and that is the shape we build most often. If digital marketing is part of the plan, bring it to discovery. We will build the site to carry it, with tracking wired in before launch and pages that give campaigns somewhere to land.
Plenty of New Zealand businesses hire remotely, and it works out fine. Working with a company in Auckland gives you same-timezone calls, hosting decisions made from local experience, and the option to meet in person when it is useful. We handle website design Auckland-wide, from the North Shore to Kumeū.
Most of the projects on our work page started from an existing site. A redesign carries obligations a new website does not: rankings that have to survive the move, redirects for every URL that changes, integrations that cannot drop, and content worth keeping. Your digital presence usually spans more than the site itself, from listings to analytics history, and a rebuild should not break any of it. If your current website is the problem, we will put in writing what we would keep, what we would rebuild, and what it costs, before you commit to anything.
Ask any studio who will actually lead your project, because the person in the sales call often disappears once the work begins.
At Code Artists, your senior technical lead stays involved from the first call through to launch. They scope the project, keep the design and development aligned, and remain your main contact when questions come up.
Designers and developers handle their parts of the build. The lead keeps everyone working from the same approved scope, so you do not have to repeat decisions or chase answers between different people.
★★★★★
"Serge did a great job with setting up a product webpage for me & was always happy to make adjustments until we got the perfect end result. Highly recommend!"
"We built our first website with Code Artists. Everything went smooth, so I want to say a special thanx to Sergei! His fantastic communication and problem-solving abilities helped a ton! Did not even know where to start before our first meeting. Thank you so much for everything you have done!"
"I cannot speak highly enough of Code Artists! Their attention to detail, while still being able to meet a tight deadline is something that was significant to me on this project. Communication was clear and consistent."
"Working with Code Artists is always a great experience (this is our second project). I've used a lot of developers in the past and I'm so glad I've finally found them. We're moving to an ongoing retainer now so we always have their talents available."
Confidentiality agreements keep client names off this list, so the projects are described rather than named. The problems were real, and we are happy to walk through any of them on a call.
An established Auckland firm growing on referrals needed to take the business online, and its first online presence had one job: turn a visit into an enquiry. The site holds services, people and a form wired straight into the firm’s inbox, with tracking that shows which pages earn the enquiries. Most small firms need exactly that, done well.
Outcomes:
A nationwide school was running every location’s schedules, events and pages through one central bottleneck. We rebuilt the site with a custom membership area and role-based permissions, so each school now manages its own content without touching anyone else’s.
Outcomes:
A redesign and rebuild for a travel insurer serving Schengen visa applicants, where trust decides whether anyone completes a purchase. It shipped with a multilingual structure, a CRM-connected enquiry flow so nothing waits in a shared mailbox, and tracking on every form that matters.
Outcomes:
Web design in Auckland is a crowded market, and the quotes all tend to look alike until you read what they cover. Two of them can put the same number on very different work: one price includes design from scratch, content support, analytics and post-launch care, while another covers little beyond assembling the pages. A large website design agency, a marketing agency with a web team and a solo website designer can each land on either side of that line, so the size of the studio tells you very little. The work is priced on scope, and most of the scope stays invisible until someone writes it down. Every studio promises a great website. The difference is what gets put in writing.
So we put it in writing: prices published before the first call, a quote that is fixed once you approve the scope, and a design you sign off before development starts. Many studios here keep their pricing behind a contact form, so the comparison only starts once you have handed over your details. Ours is public. If being upfront about money matters when you choose an Auckland web design agency, that suits us fine.
Web design services often stop at launch, and a website nobody maintains gets slower, riskier and quietly out of date, whoever built it. Our support plans start at $50 a month for managed hosting, backups, monitoring and security updates, and run to $300 a month with hands-on time included.
The website maintenance page explains how we handle updates, testing and rollbacks. And SEO services start at $700 a month if you also want search worked on after launch.
Half an hour, no obligation. You leave with a clearer scope than you arrived with, and a straight answer on whether we are the right fit for it.
